General Information

History

  • January 1, 1963. Cheonan-gun, Cheonan-eup and Hwangseong-myeon were merged and promoted to the category of si, meaning city, by order of Law No 1176. (issued on November 21, 1962) (29 dongs, 10 branch offices), Cheonan-gun was changed to Cheongwon-gun
  • May 10, 1995. Cheonan City and Cheonan County were merged to Cheonan City by order of Law No. 4948 (issued on May 10, 1995) (2 eups, 10 myeons, 13 dongs)
