"The Land of Sea, Tongyeong" which became an official brand slogan of the city of Tongyeong on January 1, 2008 at a proclamation ceremony, describes the beautiful and bountiful Tongyeong surrounded by the sea and islands. The slogan also means that Tongyeong's identity and future begin from the sea and Tongyeong exists because of the sea. It also shows Tongyeong's determination and vision to lead the new marine era, the era of southern coast and the new era of culture through the sea.
